With our unique combination of English, Irish, Scottish, American and Jewish music, coupled with both home grown and well known dances, the Green Kite Ceilidh Band offer a dance experience like no other.
Born at an impromptu barn-dance at the Climate Camp in the City in April 2009, the band continues to follow its vision of using the power of music and fun to bring people together for good causes.
In keeping with this principle, we operate as a collective. No two Green Kite ceilidhs are the same, but every one will carry our quirky signature blend of the traditional and the radical. Instruments which could appear on the night include include: bodhran, fiddle, mandolin, flute, guitar, piano, banjo or bass. Ceilidh in support of Oxford Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis
Centre Enjoy an evening of high-energy dancing, with live music provided by the talented Green Kite Ceilidh Band.
No experience is necessary - just come along, have fun and support a good cause.
OSARCC is a collective of women committed to supporting survivors of sexual abuse, rape, domestic abuse, and harassment. They offer a free and confidential service to women and girls who are dealing with the effects of sexual violence.
There will be a bar and snacks.
Tickets will be £15 on the door (£7 for concessions); or if bought in advance are £10.00 (+ £1.00 booking fee); £5 (+ 50p booking fee) for concessions.
